Happy New Years, Everybody!
I hope you had an amazing 2008 and are revved up (like I am) for an amazing 2009! I love the start of a New Year, fresh with possibilities -- a blank slate just waiting for you to scribble to your heart's content with all your colored chalk.
So with that in mind, I thought I would spend the next month sharing strategies that I've learned (and am continually learning - believe me!) with you on how to make 2009 your best year ever...body, mind and soul!
I hope you'll considering joining me on this month-long journey by implementing some of these ideas in your own life. My goal is that all of us can get some real momentum going that will propel us towards our goals (and beyond) over the next 12 months. Up for the challenge?
Thought for the Day:
The thought for today is a simple one, perfect for the first day of the year...FIGURE OUT WHAT YOU WANT IN 2009. You can't hope to get it if you haven't defined what "it" actually is.
Today's Action Challenge:
- Take out a sheet of paper and write down 5-10 goals that you would like to achieve in the new year.
- Consider the following areas: personal goals, professional/career goals and (of course) health/fitness goals
- Write them all down in the present tense, phrased in the positive "I weigh ___ lbs by December 31st, 2009"
- Don't edit yourself...don't be afraid write down what you REALLY want. Forget for now if you think it's realistic, if you "deserve" it...don't hold back. Imagine a really nice waitress at the cosmic diner (hey, I'm from Jersey we LOVE our diners) is writing down exactly what you want so she can bring it right over to you.
- Come on...go for it!
