I am confused about what types of exercise to do each day. I've heard you shouldn't work the same muscle group two days in a row to give muscles time to heal. I walk for cardio but I also like to tone my leg muscles with targeted exercises. Should I not be walking and toning every day?

Great blog! It definitely is up to every individual to make healthy choices for themselves.

In middle school and high school I was always concerned with my weight which fluctuated between 120 and 130 throughout high school. I fought the weight by eliminating meals, the only meal I ever ate was dinner during the school year and in the summer I was unable to hold myself back and gained weight. My mother and sister were always smaller than me and only because they had better self control when it came to cutting meals. After leaving high school I got fed up with this lifestyle and did the exact opposite and gorged myself. Three months, thirty lbs heaver, I decided enough was enough and I joined a gym. One year later, I lost 5 lbs. Then I read the Fit and Female book. It has been one month I have lost 7 lbs, 4cm in my hips, butt, and thighs. This book gave me motivation which finally got me out of this slump, I ran a mile for the first time in two years without stopping and I have the motivation and energy (from the nutritional food I have been eating and enjoying) to continue. If I hadn't found this book, I would still be in the slump and now that I am out there is no stopping me!

This is a great post. With all three of my pregnancies I did light exercise. I mostly swam. Especially with my third. My legs were so swollen and I was so uncomfortable I swam almost daily. I loved to take long walks too.

I love your blog. I have learned so much from the information provided.

You are an inspiration!

Good post. It is unfortunate that more restaurants do not offer healthier options and portions, but ultimately it is up to each individual to make responsible choices about what they put in their bodies. Like one of my co-workers likes to tell his clients, we're not alligators - we don't have to snap at every bit of food that crosses our paths - we can choose what and how much to eat.

Maybe if more people exercised a little self discipline and ate more consciously our country wouldn't be in the poor shape it is.

Geralyn, I found your 5 min workout on YouTube and linked to it and your site on my blog, www.homesanctuary.com. I post simple activities that my readers can do each day to create a sanctuary at home for themselves and their families. I thought you did a great job with the workout and hope you don't mind the little "plug" on my site. You have some wonderful products here and I wish you well.

Thanks for getting my readers and I up and moving today!

Your blog is such a wonderful way to help me with my life. Not only do you give me step by step advice on how to achieve a healthy fit body----make myself over at almost 64 years old but the time and effort you put in to try and teach us all the beauty of possibilities in life is just awesome----a word too often misused but in your case the only adjective that will do. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
